IF LETTING LA BURN WASN'T BAD ENOUGH - HERE ARE MORE REASONS WHY KAREN BASS IS A DISASTER:
Reduced Funding During Fire Season
The LAFD's budget was slashed by more than $17 million, stripping critical resources from firefighters as Los Angeles faces escalating wildfire threats and emergency response challenges. At a time when rapid response is more crucial than ever, officials are underfunding the very department responsible for protecting lives and property.
Businesses Closing Due to Crime and Safety Concerns
Local businesses are struggling mightily under Karen Bass. Langer's Delicatessen, an LA institution since 1947, faces closure due to rampant crime and drug use around MacArthur Park. The Original Pantry Cafe, a downtown staple for over a century, also recently shut its doors. Retailers like Walgreens have announced multiple store closures across LA, citing safety concerns and theft.
Wasted Taxpayer Money with Minimal Results
Karen Bass' Inside Safe program wasted $67 million while barely making a dent in LA's homelessness crisis, securing permanent housing for just 255 people out of an estimated 46,000. At this rate, housing all of LA's homeless would cost over $12 billion—the same amount Newsom proposed in 2021 to address homelessness across the entire state of California.
Public Safety Crisis on Metro
Violent crime on LA Metro has skyrocketed, surging 33% compared to pre-pandemic levels. Last summer hit a five-year high, with a staggering 206 violent incidents—turning public transit into a danger zone for riders.
Protecting a Broken System
Despite rampant corruption in City Hall before she took office, Karen Bass has done nothing to clean up the rot. Instead of pushing real reforms, she has protected the same broken system, allowing backroom deals and political favoritism to continue unchecked.
